Royal DanceSport Challenge Competition Policies

Category Mergers

  • If a category has fewer than three entries, the organizer may merge it with another event.

Teacher-Student Competitions

  • A teacher cannot compete with multiple students against each other in the same style, dance, level, and age category.

Critique Sheets & Scores

  • Exhibitions will receive critiques and scores.
  • Studios must pick up score sheets at the registration desk on Saturday after the competition.

Cancellations & Refunds

  • Refunds are available up to two weeks after the entry deadline, with a $75 processing fee. Refunds will be issued 30 days after the event.
  • Cancellations at the event cannot be exchanged for another entry, and no refunds will be given.

Payment Policies

  • After April 15, 2024, payments must be made by cashier’s check, money order, or cash.
  • No business or personal checks will be accepted after this date or at the competition.
  • Make checks payable to Royal DanceSport Challenge.

Video & Photography

  • Video passes will be available for purchase.
  • By attending, all guests and competitors consent to being photographed or recorded, with images possibly used publicly.

Liability & Responsibility

  • The Royal DanceSport Challenge, its employees, and affiliates are not liable for any injuries sustained at the event.
  • All attendees must follow the Official Rules of the National Dance Council of America (NDCA).
  • The organizers are not responsible for lost or stolen items in the ballroom or changing rooms.

NDCA Registration Requirements

  • All Amateur and Professional competitors must be registered with the NDCA if participating in Pro/Am or Professional events.
